Bella Lifestyle Photoshoot

As i was walking towards the main entrance of Royal Selangor, i could see Farah crying as she walked passed me and then it finally hit me that it was actually the elimination day. I was already late upon reaching because it was a last minute task and i barely had any photos taken during the elimination round.
Elaine did give some pep talk to Farah before leaving and it was good to see Farah smile immediately.
I was told that every week, Farah would say before the elimination that she would be the one that would leave but she managed stay on. But for this week, it was the first time she said that she probably could scrap this thought again but it didn’t.
Wishing Farah all the very best.
Knowing that the next elimination would see 2 girls sent back, everyone had something to prove that they are worthy of their stay. While waiting for the girls to be all dressed up, i randomly asked a few on how they felt about the girls who were eliminated so far. Majority or rather all did say Acha definitely didn’t deserve to go home cause she really wanted this.
“Then what about all of you ? Shouldn’t all of you want this as well ?” i asked
…. and then there was dead silence for a few seconds -_-!
Everyone then replied that of course they wanted this badly, LOL. Anyway, the photoshoot started waaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too long after the scheduled time. The girls were hungry, the photographer ended up talking shots of doors >.<! and i was just sitting and staring into space, hahahaa.
After getting bored with shooting doors, lol, George-the-photographer went through his list of places and poses of each girl should do ….. again …. and again …… and again. Hahahaha.
Really pitied him. He was nice enough to share a few tips on photography off and on. The frustration from him was felt when it was already more than an hour since he was scheduled to shoot.
In any reality show, there’s definitely drama between the contestants, between the ardent supporters but have you heard about the drama between the photographer and the host ? I will touch about it at the end of the entry.
Now back to our girls …
After waiting for 2 hours, the girls finally appeared one by one. Unfortunately for the first 3 who appeared, they couldn’t have their lunch until their shots were done.
So first up was Juanita.
Being the first isn’t usually easy because you wouldn’t know how and what you should do. But after a while Juanita did manage to gather herself to get decent shots. Make up wise, it was definitely better than the last time i saw her during the Beautilicious Photoshoot. I even noticed her family members mentioning about her makeup in one of the episodes. Though she needed a bit of guidance at the beginning since the theme ‘lifestyle’ is pretty vague, she was able to incorporate the great lines of her body to her advantage.
As for what happened after the photoshoot, Juanita definitely needs listen to her brother. It doesn’t really matter if Natasha did or did not meet her parents … why the confrontation ? >.<!
I seriously don’t see her angle when she spoke to Natasha. For the time being, my advice is to let the photos do the talking.
Juanita does have what it takes to be at the top but with the current drama and all, i am not sure how the viewers will digest it.
Natasha was next and during the whole photoshoot, she was pretty quiet. I wouldn’t say the pictures were dull but i think Natasha looked like as though someone had sucked out the life in her. Probably it’s because she’s still not feeling well. It was the only session among the girls where it was really quiet. The only voice i could hear was George directing her to pose and Elaine disagreeing with it, lol.
As far as the hospital is concerned, Natasha definitely needed medical attention. I mean come on people, if it’s someone whom you are supporting or better still, family member, i am pretty sure you would want the same thing for her. But … there’s always a but. Four days in the hospital is pretty long. Just like QueenB*****, i love reality TV but when one has medical conditions, it’s usually a straight cut. And Natasha has been given a chance to carry on and she should have tried to pump in more effort during the shoot which didn’t actually happen. I guess the medical test did take a toll on her.
There was just no fighting spirit.
Of all the girls, i can honestly say Pinky has managed to work it out in all situations. Dramas aside, she does very well in terms of listening to instructions. When she strikes a pose for the photographer, she does mean business. No hanky panky stuff, it’s pure modeling. She wasn’t even slightly affected by the earlier elimination round when she was in the bottom three. Pinky i think would have the best picture compared to the rest.
Telling it live on video that she doesn’t want the votes from Ah Fai was just plain ridiculous. I am not sure if it was meant to be a joke but it does give an impression that she’s just there for the fun of it. Win or lose it doesn’t really matter to her. It’s good that she finally came to her senses when she spoke to Ah Fai again, telling how she felt being in the bottom 3.
I believe Pinky is one to look out for in the coming weeks.
Shasya definitely looked good during the photoshoot. Sorry to Shasya’s fans but i just didn’t get it when she made it to the top 12. But Shasya did show WHY she is there and i must say that with that hairdo and make up, Shasya had that Marilyn Monroe look. I didn’t say she looked exactly like Marilyn Monroe but she gave that presence.
With the right physique, Shasya can be more versatile and not so one dimensional. But in this photoshoot, i think Shasya did her best and it’s all up to the voters.
One thing that i have to emphasize is watch out for the comments on video, especially during the phonecalls. I was like speechless @_@ when Shasya uttered something before Kak Jah spoke to her. I have nothing against her saying it but she has to remember this is a competition and people would find for the slightest ‘boo boo’ to turn it against you.
Among all the 7 faces we have, Ming is definitely on top of that pile. Bar none. Coupled with her experience, Ming always have great shots which makes it even harder to choose which picture to represent her. With her physique, the clothes just magnifies how great Ming looks. I had mentioned it before and i will mention it again ….. if only she was taller. But never mind, this is a photoshoot and i think Ming knew how to showcase what the photographer wanted.
In terms of PR, Ming is doing pretty well with her videos and entries. Fashion advice … now that’s a first.
Denezia for the first time did try to show the other side of her. Probably after the phonecall with her family member where one of them told her to cut down on her ‘garang’ look, Denezia did try a different approach. In fact before the photoshoot, she took a few test shots with me to look back on how much ‘garang-ness’ was there in her.
Comparing her to the first week, Denezia did tone down her garang-ness, which is a good thing. She does show the enthusiasm that she wants to learn more.
If she doesn’t know or isn’t comfortable with something, she would voice out which is important to a certain extend especially when you want the very best to be shown to the public.
Dawn was the only one who had her photoshoot under the blazing sun but i think the setting where she stood in front of the mega huge mug was really nice. Elaine had problems seeing Dawn in the first outfit which explains why she has 2 different outfit in the picture above. Immediately she was ushered away to put on something else.
It wasn’t easy to contain one’s self especially with that kind of heat in the late afternoon. Tissues were on standby at all times.
The photoshoot was slightly above average. Probably it’s because you can’t do much with a mug that huge except to pose in front of it. Dawn did stay composed through out the shoot eventhough she had to wait very long since she was the last to be photographed.
The entry where she showed herself without make up was definitely a bold move. Whether she’s going to regret it later is a different story all together. I have people telling that it was a big no no to post such pictures. But you see … there’s always 2 sides to everything. Yes people might give negative comments but if you think it from the other way round, some would think she’s has no problem revealing her true self which is how they like; the unplugged version of Dawn.
As for me, at the end of the day, it’s still a reality show and that could be a small speed bump for Dawn. But i doubt it will even slow her down.
Many have asked for more random shots of the girls but if i were to do that then there’s gonna be like more than 100 over pictures in each photoshoot. So what i did was, i uploaded the remaining photos in my gallery and you are most welcome to view them.
The other smaller drama that was happening was between George and Elaine. Yes George-the-photographer. Observing everything that happens on set, i realized George did already assign what pose for each girl but Elaine would change it and vice versa. The tension could be felt from where i was standing.
And when the photographer and host clash horns, the only thing wasted was the time which wasn’t ideal at that situation because we were already running behind schedule.
Drama is just everywhere. I can safely say all reality shows have it. Be it small production show to huge ones.
I have asked one of my friends how is it watching Malaysian Dream Girl for the very first time.
Woolala: MDG should be known as Mountain Dream Girls !

Woolala: It’s like having 12 tigers on a mountain. There can only be one tiger on one mountain. So all would be killing each other to be on the top and that’s what i see when the drama unfolds among the girls.

Besides that i have also being asked numerous times on whom am i rooting for and i think as i watch week by week, my choice would be as follows.
In no particular order: Dawn, Juanita, Pinky
Dark horse: Ming
This is based on modeling’s point of view minus all the extra baggage like drama, etc. I would love to put Ming in the top 3 but the height could be a slight problem in later stages but then again, it’s you voters who decide and this is only my hunch. So if you don’t agree with my list, do prove me wrong :)
It’s also clear that the girls with more experience and maturity are sailing through week by week despite all the commotion in the house where else the younger ones are struggling.

Love Denezia’s and Natasha’s pictures; so refreshing. I almost couldn’t recognise Denezia. Anyone saw the veins on Juanita’s neck? I think she tried too hard…..again.

sorry contrary to the general views, i think ming is looking less n less attractive. its not her braces. shes just not looking gd.
denezia looks gd in this photoshoot. which is a rarity. it seems that its easier to get a bad a photoshoot frm denezia as opposed to a gd one. in that respect, denezia is not cut out as a model. it takes great effort for her to look gd.
natasha is pretty. n it stops there.
yup i agree juanita tries too hard.
syasya n pinky hv done very well. but need to improve their english..heeheeheee….

Ming caught my eye with her ultra exotic features - pearl of the orient, indeed! With her jet-black hair and heavy eyeliner against porcelain skin just screams Old Shanghai glamour. I’m thinking red cheong sam and black satin gloves. KELAS!
Dawn reminds me of a mando-pop sensation artist, like Stef Sun.
Nat ought to be more inspired and inject some spark in her eyes if she wants to take as vibrant pictures as Shasya’s.
Pinky is chio, flirtatious and lovable.
Juanita is smart in a cunning and manipulative way, no?

Lola, why so harsh? Why jump to the conclusion that they don’t deserve this and that? We’re not the MDG contributors, we don’t know how the deals between bloggers and the MDG organiser goes on.
Infact, we should be glad for their ‘existance’ this season. Through their entries, we get to see MORE PICTURES, know MORE DRAMAS (the additional drama between the host and the photographer which wasn’t shown in the episodes) and of course know the girls better through them (besides the entries by the girls). They’re there to spice things up. Just wait for the entry like all of us will you?
To Satkuru, thumb up for the interesting post and just brush Lola’s comment aside. Keep up the good work.

Meet me up personally and I’ll be more than happy to show you how much hits/unique visitors I’ve got (which will make you laugh at the ridiculously low number). Whatever your so-called ‘paid in kind’ doesn’t even cover 10% of my travelling expenses during this season.
I treasure all the experiences that I’ve been through and all the people I meet the most.. Not hits and exposure unlike certain people.

Yes, I am sensitive when it comes to my integrity and objective as a blogger and as a person… Whenever people thinks I blog for ‘potential extra hits’ or so called ‘paid in kind’, I will do whatever it takes to defend that honour. Again, I’m willing to take this job for its experiences and the people I meet, not the ‘potential extra hits’.
Strangely in this world, some people just don’t understand the power of knowledge and experience, rather than materialistic values. Every job in this world has its pros and cons, certain people just can’t accept that fact.

I can honestly say i didnt join this for “hits” or “money” because for me, i have to travel from JB > KL by bus to cover for MDG (sometimes plus hotel costs if i stay for the night in KL)
Covering for MDG is just a very fun experience for me. =)
