Miss Incredible Challenge

By now, everyone should already know that the final 3 left are Dawn, Pinky and Juanita. Who will make way for the final ONE to walk down the runway while waving with joyous tears, crowned as the Malaysian Dreamgirl Season 2? We will find it all out on the 15th of May 2009 at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara, which is this Friday evening.

Anyway, here’s a coverage of a photoshoot challenge done in Kidz Sports and Gym, Bangsar Village II, just days before the final elimination when the 4 girls were still left dreading as they waited for the final elimination. It was a photoshoot based on the theme “Incredible Me” by Escada and what a venue I would say to have such a shoot. Difficulty level - Very high!

When I reached, I had a short chat to catch up with the girls. It seemed to me that it has indeed been a long journey for them since the top 12 and now that they are already down to 4, there wasn’t much drama left to shout about already. Only Ming, Dawn and Pinky, who were roommates since day 1 had a good run all the way until the final elimination - which we already know the results.
In this shoot, the girls had to pick a spot of their own choice and then strike a pose that best expresses themselves with the “incredible me” theme, and each had to describe why they chose the spot and pose. Here’s a quick look at their respective spots and poses. For coloured gallery, watch them in the Kidz Sports episodes.

By the way, did I not mentioned that the judge that day was Julie from Beautilicious. Anyway, while Julie was going through the photos with Dwayne, the photographer, the girls were already complaining that they were hungry. So, I bought them each a lollipop. It wasn’t that difficult to make them happy though. LOL.

*not only did they smiled, they jumped for joy too. LOL*
Soon, came judgement time and all the girls were interview one by one to explain why they chose their respective spots and the pose that they did.
Pinky chose the spot where there was a pool of soft balls with various colours. She mentioned that life is meant to be beautiful and filled with different colours. I thought she had a really good explanation that suited her photo. You’ll see the winning photo soon in the video. It was full of expression.
Dawn’s pose was to express that in life there are ups and downs and no matter how many times we fall, as long as we rise again, we will achieve our goals and dreams. Very impressive.
Juanita’s spot was a castle. She wanted to portray herself being sky high and be at the top of the world. Only then can we feel the satisfaction of our achievements in life. Ambitious yet motivational.
Ming mentioned that playground is like a wonderland to children. As kids being themselves, Ming wanted to be herself in all that she do and she doesn’t want to fake it.

The eventual winner was Pinky and she got to pick a partner to join her for an Incredible Day - one day of “fun and play” session in an undisclosed venue.

The girls jumping…..they look like ghosts levitating….
The explanation the girls gave as to why they chose their spots…no need reason, just what they think is nice. If the spot is reserved by one girl then this girl has to choose another one. No need to get philosophical.
