Mist Club Photoshoot

The final photoshoot was carried out hours after the final elimination. The girls were still composing themselves after realizing that this was it, the final stretch before the Grand Finale @ The Curve.
The venue was set at Mist Club and no one knew what the theme was exactly.
I asked around on what’s happening and no one seemed to give me a direct answer.
The only thing i got from the production crew was an evil grin.
“Hey Satkuru ! Today we are shooting with Ricardo,” Dawn yelled.
So finally the girls were getting what they always wanted …
… a male model. Not any male model but one from Burma.
I asked why a male model from Burma ? and Dawn gave that same evil grin and asked me to wait and see. I kept looking around thinking if this Ricardo fella is anywhere nearby. Then Pinky walked passed me and said …
“Eh it’s a python lar, a python ! No model”
“Then why Dawn did say there’s some model here name Ricardo ? and some more from Burma,” i asked
“The python’s name is Ricardo and it’s a Burmese python,” Pinky replied
I am never too fond of snakes let alone a python and i was wondering how these girls were gonna do their photoshoot. I was told Pinky couldn’t take it when they were surprised with Ricardo. So much so that she broke down into tears. Pity her.
All three girls were somehow affected by Ricardo the Burmese python. It took them quite sometime to get into the rhythm.
First up was Dawn. It’s not easy being the first in any photoshoot but in this particular one, there wasn’t any advantage to the other 2 girls since they were all still having their make up and hairdo done. So it was solely on each of them to show what they can come out with, with the given set and model.
I am not sure how her photo will turn out in Dwayne’s photos but i thought Dawn wasn’t sure about what she wanted to do. The first 10 minutes or so was really dull. Instead of treating Ricardo as an accessory, she had him on as a snake. What i am trying to say here is, it wasn’t seamed.
Of course after a while, Dawn did manage to get something out of it and even asked the trainers to position Ricardo in different poses to her advantage.
After her shoot, Dawn looked much more comfortable posing on her own without Ricardo :P She also had a hard time with him because he kept slithering around, near her legs, behind her and it wasn’t easy to pose when Ricardo isn’t staying still.
… and finally Dawn minus Ricardo :P

Juanita was next.
Here’s what i can tell. If the whole competition is based on this very photoshoot, Juanita would have driven home with the prized car. I kid you not people. She was strong in her shoot, from the start till the end. I know how much everyone has been saying that she has been giving the same poses and all but based on how she executed it, she was like a pro.
Ricardo didn’t even exist to her. She used him like scarf instead, lol.
Which i think it’s a good thing so there won’t be any akwardness in the photo.
Her poses were excellent, the way she handled Ricardo was even better. Overall i thought she nailed this photoshoot.
MDG’s DID YOU KNOW: Did you know that snakes can sneeze ? LOL i didn’t.
Towards the end of Juanita’s shoot, Ricardo suddenly sneezed and i honestly thought he went into attack-mode ! T.T
Imagine me squinting my eye into my camera viewfinder, just to see a python moving forward out of a sudden. I almost tumbled backwards @.@!
We were then told Ricardo was merely sneezing, probably due to the hairspray.
Pinky was the only who was affected badly. The picture above might suggest otherwise but she did breakdown again when it was her turn to have Ricardo. From her eyes, anyone could tell how terrified she was and when she started trembling and crying, we put everything on halt to calm her down.
She was afraid that Ricardo would actually attack and even with everyone convincing her that it won’t happen, Pinky was still trembling.
Poor thing.
But this is still a competition and she was told she was given another 10 minutes to get it done.
She eventually gathered herself after realizing that this is her final photoshoot. It took a lot of guts for Pinky to pose with Ricardo and she did it without a hitch.
In fact, her pictures turned out brilliant !
It even came to a point where she asked if she could change position and shift Ricardo around. The trick that kept her going was, she didn’t look at Ricardo at all. I realized at the beginning when she did look directly, she would start to tremble.
Even with very little photos taken compared to the other 2 girls, most were good and usable shots.
Like i said earlier, Pinky wasn’t the only one who hit speedbumps during this photoshoot but all the girls did. Just that Pinky’s speedbump was bigger, lol. Dawn was surprised how loud Ricardo was hissing, Elaine talking to Pinky on how she should overcome her fear and the bottom pic, Juanita looking at Ricardo moments before he sneezed again @.@! LOL
Scary stuff !
But seriously, this was by far the best photoshoot ever.
It was ala ANTM style and it definitely caught the girls by surprise …. and even me.
Since this is their final photoshoot, i will try to cramp in more photos :)
My verdict on this final photoshoot: Though Pinky came back strong towards the end, i felt Juanita owned this photoshoot. Dawn’s poses were a bit to safe compared to Pinky and Juanita.
The finale is less than a week away, i wonder which of these 3 girls will be crowned the winner :)

Your photos of Juanita is better than the one they chose for the gallery, you’re right, she does look the part though i still dont like her =P Found it inconsistent that Dawn and Pinky’s pictures are so hot and leggy in the gallery but Juanita’s isn’t. I’d say Pinky’s is best. But that doesnt change my eternal support for Dawn as the next MDG!

For once I saw a real bitchy side of Dawn. Cutting in when Juanita was trying to give her commentary at the restaurant and then butting in while she was trying to tell the story about the handphone. When Elaine was talking about how a girl gets voted out after they get their best shoot, Dawn seemed to be rubbing it in even more. She seems very intimidated by Juanita having the best shoot this week.

MDG Fan you must be the one being intimidated. It looked fine in the video. She just added about getting the love boat ice cream or whatever and everybody agreed. So what is the big deal?
As for the phone comment, Juanita wasn’t even talking. How can Dawn but in? When Juanita did speak, she finished what she wanted to say. It looked like a really nice conversation between the ladies.
I don’t think that sanctions the bitchy brand. And rubbing what in?
The girls already made it into the top 3. There’s no need for bashing anymore.

The latest episode just shows how much Juanita isn’t sure of what she’s talking again. Trying to be Miss-Goody-Two-Shoes and contradicts herself over and over again. Probably she should structure her words properly before opening her mouth. That will help a lot!
Dawn finally shows her furious side. Kudos! But the picture… hmmm…

I love Pinky to the max!!! down to earth, unpretentious, unlike Juanita who rambles on and got sesat, like just what is she trying to tell people? THe more she explains, the worse it’ll look on her. Bad move. Playing with words..getting caught up with them (so obvious in the last episode) Unlike Pinky, limited vocab, so will never do such things. Pinky is a disaster! Notice a lot of puffyness under her eyes in all her photo’s - but for this shoot it’s worse because of her crying. Not good. Didn’t she realise this was her final photoshoot? This is where she was supposed to shine but she was lousy. She is still playing the fool and does not deserve to be the next MDG. Couldn’t she just do her job like Juanita and Dawn? What a shame. The crew should have just stuck a pacifier in her mouth!

When Elaine announced the name Ricardo, I too expected a hunk of a guy to appear, very funny. As a host, Elaine cannot burst out laughing, she contained herself well. She said, “Calm down and enjoy the shoot” like it’s not her problem. From the show, I gather the anaconda is about 2 meters longs. Anaconda like that devours baby goats, maybe children too.
Juanita’s attitude at the safari shoot pleased me, she took up the challenge without much doubt. It was visible at the interview Juanita’s breast aren’t pointy and high enough, if she wants to make it in this industry her time is limited. All in all, Juanita is getting more likable. Dawn unintentionally showed the calculative side of her in this episode, considering game theory. Dawn is not mute, she’s got interesting things to say. She comes across like a older sister to Pinky, she looks after those she deems worthy of her care. Compared to the other two, Pinky is getting less noticed. Crying at the shoot is not doing her any good.
I particularly like the photo of the three finalists together, the way their eyes pierced the camera, especially Dawn with her angled face. They make believe: kinky bitches from hell. This photo combined all their sexuality together, thriple sex-power…it almost looks like an orgy if they lie against one another. I like Dawn’s and Pinky’s individual full body pose better than Juanita’s but they lack fierceness in their eyes. The snake suits Juanita’s skin colour best.
I appreciate the effort the producers took to fill in the missing blanks. Nevertheless, the sound effect wasn’t good, had to replay the episodes to get what was said. At Schokalat, it dawned on me that Juanita had to pause to tell what the reason was for buying the phone. Pausing insinuates a lie. If someone has to think up a reason the credibility evaporates. Natasha’s allegded hospital privilages cannot be the reason the girls bought the phone. There is already a phone at the MDG house, a cellphone has the same function. I am inclined to think that these girls want to talk off camera which probably is the reason why cellphones aren’t allowed in the first place. I doubt all they did was talking about sweet nothings to boyfriends.
Elaine was tactful in “interrogating” Juanita, like a true lawyer. She rephrased her questions a few times, Juanita was reluctant in giving a statisfying answer. Elaine asked, “You all want the phone for what actually? ” Juanita’s answer, “I dunno, I just nodded my head like everyone” After that Elaine tried with, “How you know the roti man had a phone? Why the need for a handphone?”

I really have to agree with MDG fan comment #13. It was very outstanding that Dawn was very much an attention seaker in this episode. Butting in when Juanita was giving her commentary, waving her hands dramatically when it was Juanita’s turn to talk and the camera was focused on her. It was also very obvious to me that Dawn was making Juanita’s confession very difficult for her. Rubbing salt into Juanita’s every sentence. And this is in addition to the fact that it was Dawn who placed Juanita on the spot to make the confession. Dawn, that just wasnt a very nice thing to do! Trying to get a fellow competitor into trouble by asking unnessary queations. Very disappointing indeed.
As for Juanita, she doesnt learn from her mistakes! Clarifying the story is ok but why in the world did she start naming names again?! So frustrating!
Pinky was very outstanding in her photoshoot. Placing her ophidiophobia on hold to give us all a very good picture! I thought her picture portrayed confidence, would never guess that she was crying and shivering in fear before.
First episode ever that gave me an urge to leave a comment. So that’s my two cents. GOOD LUCK to ALL the girls!

#43 First timer: Today is also my first time writing comments here after watching their most recent video. I really cannot tahan Juanita.
I thought she will stop all these finger pointing stuffs. How could she and the other girls bought the handphone, yet saying she doesn’t know for what reason she bought the phone. And worst of all, Natasha got threaten by Juanita during their previous cat fight session.
I think MDG should have taken serious action on models who disobey the rules. We do not wish to see high class models who do not know how to bring themselve.
But Juanita and Pinky are equally good. Just that Pinky is not so fluent with her english. As for Dawn, I like to see her heart melting smile. So sweet~~

It is rather annoying that Juanita always speaks very fast…. at times i feel as if she was rapping in tamil or whatever =( i think she was good in this photo shoot,very calm and focus,very professional as well. However, with ophidiophobia and puffy eyes, I still think Pinky’s photo is really great and the best among 3. Probably Elaine’s advise to Pinky worked very well too.
I like Dawn too but her voice (when talking on the phone) especially when she said “longggg”…. aiyoh too high pitch :p

pinky’s awesome.
she’s real, honest, unpretentious, has such a sweet personality..and on top of that, she’s definitely a high fashion model material! and very versatile as well!
notice how she always does so well in almost every shoot? always portraying the theme of every shoot. she’s a natural and will definitely go far in the modelling industry.
dawn’s got all that but i really dont see her as a high fashion model la.

Juanita is ugly and looks like a transvestite, complete with ugly thick lips and shifty eyes that also show her lack of confidence, talks with whining tone, especially when telling lies. She has thin stick-like calves and tries hard to wear sexy stuff which makes her look more like a transvestite. She is also very bitchy and scheming. Btw, why is only her living room presentable? What about the rest of the flat? Also her parents? She’s ashamed or what?

Dawn is ugly with thick lips, no chin, short face, nose like garlic bulb, eyes pop out. Don’t be fooled by her fake facade. She is scheming and tries to smile and talk with “lah!” all the time to show she is “chinchai” when she is not. She is actually fierce (even more than Juanita) and scheming, and will “eat you while at the same time smiling”! The eyes tell the truth! Her English, spoken and written is actually bad. Her grammar is terrible!

Dawn’s voice is so lousy - like a Chinese aunty’s, sounds stale like when people wake up in the morning, and all the “lah, lah …” doesn’t help at all. She is not sincere, and is spoilt and bossy. Pinky has eye bags, but that is about all. She has a
lovely body, legs and skin. She is feminine compared to Dawn and Juanita who are both tomboys and look like transvestites.
We love Pinky because she is humble and not a gold-digger. Watch the episode at her home. Although her mother wants her to marry a rich man, she still stays loyal to Ah Fei, for love only.
Only setback is her English. To be continued …

Amber Chia also spoke terrible English but is now a
successful international model because of hard work!

Since the beginning of the show someone has been mentioning about Pinky looking like a chinese celebrity even before the top 12 were selected. Someone else later left a comment to say that she looks like a hongkong celebrity didn’t state a name. I totally agreed with both of them. I thought Pinky is looking really familiar! I have this close to her feeling whenever I am looking at her pictures. I was struggling to figure out who she reminds me of so much and later it just felt like looking at Pinky herself after watching so much of her videos and photos in the galleries. 2 months later, this feeling came back again when Amie brought this up although it was not a compliment. Amie dear, you must be wearing expired contact lenses! How could you say Pinky has no high fashion Hongkong look but then you said she has the looks of a taiwanese? I have classmates from HK and TW and I could’ve sworn you really can’t tell from which country they’re from, without looking at the way they dressup or the language they’re speaking! In terms of looks, I don’t think you can easily differentiate a hongkie with taiwanese. I find it quite interesting that Juanita does not seem to want to own up to her own actions each time she is confronted. Each time she claims that she just goes along with whatever everyone is saying/ doing as if she has no mind of her own. I don’t think in the long run it will do any harm to her and I think she may stand a very strong chance looking at her photos. Nevertheless, all the best to all 3, I agree with Elaine, this season’s final 3 is much better then last year’s.

it just sounds so weird to nod and agree but actually u don’t really know what happened and later disagree. and sneaking a hp is no small matter in this competition yet she can’t remember why and how they do it. really really weird to me. okay fine, u may say.. it’s the photo shoots and runway that matter since it’s a model search but sad to say, i just can’t connect with juanita.
rooting for ming since day 1, now if i have to choose my MDG from the 3 girls, i would say pinky deserves it. but in the end of the day, ming will still be my MDG.

At the end of the day, family and friends will vote for their favourite. There are a few types of supporters. Family and friends, those who vote according to races, “inheritance-voters” who sway between the new finalists. The latter is the most influenceable and probably the decisive factor.
Pinky’s supporters are getting more and more ferocious. Before the final countdown there was little to no slandering against Dawn from Pinky’s supporters. If this is the way it’s going to be, I pity Pinky for being associated with these people. Be very carely not to jeopardize Pinky’s chances people. You are all boosting up her rival-Dawn’s chances. What a disgrace some people are being to their favourites. Before Dawn, Ming was targeted.
Juanita is constantly bashed, it doesn’t matter if she compliments somebody or attempts to give an explanation on the phone issue. Her fault was she didn’t give a straight answer in one go. Rephrasing it numerous times and having to come up with alibi on the spot made it look like she was still covering up. Someone said, she still hasn’t learned from not naming names. I beg to differ, in a case like this, it is allright to say names, it was a so called confession. But this confession went haywire. It doesn’t matter if she gave an honest answer, people will still continue to bash her. What she should have done was owning up to it, the bashing would be milder.
Dawn showed her worst side at this episode. Her vigorous wave during Juanita’s presentation made Dawn look foolish, competing for attention. She slipped, her calculative side is revealed. If Pinky can’t overcome her fears as fast as the other girls, then she’s got something to worry about. Lately, we do not see her making any statement about the others, her personality is getting boring. If she’s not careful, she’s bound to repeat Ming’s mistake. There is less camera footage of her in interviews.

Dawn is ugly. Not model material - face too short round, receding chin, bulb of a nose, eyes bulge out, thick lips, cheekbones too protruding.

Dear Esa, i would like to point out that the video of her discussing about the handphone incident is the final video of her before the final votes. What makes you think she wont lie to prove her so called “innocence”? This is what i would say an attempt to get pity votes and of course as she had previously said in her interviews and her phone conversations, its all about the competition, and not about the girls around her. So i am pretty sure she would take the necessary steps to lie her way through to make sure she wins this competition even though it would mean she has to backstab a few of the girls who had left. Ya, I agree with you Timmak. If really Juanita is going to win this competition, I don’t think she is going far although she is good in modeling. The videos show everything. I’m sure her friends would be laughing at her so hard. Doing all these hangky pangky stuffs in air somemore.
As for Pinky, i think she relies too much on Ah Fai. I hope to see more confidence side of her rather than everything Ah Fai here Ah Fai there. Modeling is a profession and should be treated professionally. Don’t ever mix work and relationship together :D Anyway, two thumbs up for Pinky. She was like crying so hard, yet her pictures turn out incredibly nice.
For Dawn, I think she is pretty common for me. The good point of Dawn is her confidence level very high. I love to listen to her interview. Load, clear and most of all, her eagerness is there.
During MDG 1, I thought Hanis is going to win the grand prize. Damn disappointed when I see Cindy won it.

Ming and Natasha used to be my favourites. Natasha was IMO the prettiest face in the competition, and Ming photographs beautifully.
Well both are out now..I hope Dawn wins this. Pinky is gorgeous and Juanita has a wonderful face and body structure, but I prefer Dawn. She’s strong, eager and determined. Pinky is a bit too emotional and Juanita seems to fib a lot.

Aus you are sooo right about Juanita, you can spot her a mile away all pretty faced. BUT, like i had said before, she has the face like the moon, full of craters. Maybe you havent seen her upclose and personal yet. Of course i may not know the world of modelling and entertainment, but isnt lying part of that world. i’m not a supporter of any of the 3 girls. but i cant help but sympathise with juanita during the dinner scene. she was somewhat cornered by pinky n dawn to recount abt wat happened during the handphone fiasco. dawn n pinky only knew how to say “we don’t know” n in turn cornered juanita in front of elaine. seems a tad deliberate to make juanita appear bad in front of the 2 judges.
