Elaine’s Challenge

Jerad emailed me the previous day requesting me to come at 10.30am. And I of course, being so unfashionably late made it at 11 and keep thinking “I am sooo late!”. The girls aka the top 12 has not arrived yet but Elaine was already there. Anyway today’s event is held at Capxion’s Media Office at Dataran Ara Damansara.

The girls apparently had just moved into the MDG house the day before. As soon as the girls arrived, I was introduced to them.
This is Acha and Shasya fiddling over Shasya’s rantai. Shasya is dressed as a rock chic today and she kept asking me ” Kak, ada gaya rock chic tak?” And I thought she did nail the rock chic part. By the way the girls told me that Acha was the one who cooked delicious mee goreng for their breakfast today. A beautiful model who also cook delicious food? This world is soo unfair!
Then, I saw Farah, sitting on the floor while putting lotion all over her legs. And look at that legs, y’all!

While some of the girls were practicing their best post, Ming and Pinky were relaxing on the couch while listening to the music.
Denezia meanwhile is doing her best pouty pose!
And then somebody came and collect all the girls’ make up bag..Guess what the girls are up to next?
The girls are then made to change into this colourful clothes since today’s theme is supposed to be ‘Unity in Colours’. Remember the previous make up bags that were collected? It seemed that the girls have to do their make up themselves.
Everyone are nearly trampling over each other trying to grab the colour of their choice! And one of the girls (I won’t reveal who but you can guess) complains that the tights are too tight on her that she needed somebody’s help to put on the tights properly. Now I think somebody needs to send these girls to gym - and make that fast!
I have heard a lot about Natasha’s famous long locks, but to see it live in front of your own eyes? I got to say WOW! How did she ever keep it problem-free with hair that long? And in Malaysia’s humid weather?
Assigment for today? They need to show their best pose in front of the camera and Elaine of course. The best pose will win RM500 apparel from Adidas!
The photographer will do his job capturing the model’s pose while Elaine will view it through the HP notebook.
First up is Farah. She’s trying for the sexy and mysterious pose. But she did not smile at all, and that did not strike well with Elaine. You can still smile and look sexy! She’s kind of stiff too. And I thought she looks sweet and all, but kind of short to grace the runaways.
Dawn is up next. She has this school girl cum girl next door look and opt to do some cutesy pose. Elaine thought she need to be a chameleon and vary her pose because a girl next door type is something that this contest is certainly not looking for.
Ming used to practice ballet, so this explained the ballet-inspired pose. I think this girl has a really angelic look with milky skin and Elaine was really impressed with the way she bent her body.
Elaine commented that Pinky is pretty but tend to be boring. She also opted to do the sexy pose but trendy. Now I see a pattern here-most of the models really love doing the sexy pose. More variations please?
Not another sexy pose again, Denezia! Elaine thought she was really over the top and she should act her age - which is 17.
I thought Maya has a nice full lips and so she did the pouty thing for this pose. Elaine thought she should control her pout and “don’t overdo it!”
I have to applaud Shasya for being different and staying away from the overused sexy pose. Her pose is something that is more fun kind of way. But Elaine thought the pose is very ‘catalogued’ and she should try to do variations of pose.
Elaine cannot get over how long is Tasha’s hair. And I kept wondering how they will do the makeover on Tasha’s hair tomorrow. Her pose is too strong and Elaine said she should relax!
If there is someone that need to gain extra pounds, I think it should be Rajvin! I mean how could someone gone all legs and limbs and nothing else? But then I think she will be perfect for runaways and even Elaine thought she has good body proportion for a model.
Acha is another one who dare to be different. I thought the pose is quite refereshing after all that sexy poses that I have seen. She nearly fell over when she tried one daring pose though. Lucky for her, I did not manage to snap the pic!

Last but not least..Liana! I think she’s doing some kind sexy pose here and Elaine said she has a nice lips and face, which I totally agree. No wonder a lot of people are rooting for her, I mean how could you not after seeing that look of hers!

Sorry for my camera’s reflection but I think that is a very gorgeous and refreshing pose indeed! Acha was really surprised since she thought once she nearly fell over, there went her chance. From cooking extraordinaire to a tough Redbull Female Driver and now on her way to stardom with her first win in a Malaysian Dreamgirl’s assignment!

For the afternoon session, the girls changed back to their own clothes for a workshop session with Elaine.
As I and the rest of the girls were listening intently to Elaine, Mr Photographer here is working on Elaine’s photo in Photoshop. Now I know the secret of all those models looking fabulously flawless in photoshoots!
The girls got to have a Q&A session with Elaine where they got to question her about anything and everything related to her experience in modelling.
One quote from Elaine really caught me:
“No matter how beautiful you are, if you are ugly inside, nobody would want to work with you, trust me”
And I think that is so true! That’s the end of the session for the top 12. Anyway I can’t wait to read Andrew’s entry about the girls’ makeover at Shawn Cutler!

good post~! i’m happy to read the sequences that the girls were up to. from arriving the studio, getting ready for the challenge, do their own make up, and comments on all contestant. especially interesting details and facts that the viewers missed in the show.. :) liking it!

i think Acha’s pose was different there.. fresh, unique, and showing that model wanna-be should have creativity too~ :) this is competition! they need to stands out! and she did it!

Wow…!!! that sure is a fun experience…
nice hair too….i so wish i could be a part of all this magic….
but the girl with the make up bags…isn’t that Kat..i think i know her from high school…she look so different now…
so that’s wat she is up too eh…how i wish i can be in her position and be around so many beautiful girls…

I strictly recommend not to wait until you earn enough amount of money to order different goods! You can get the mortgage loans or sba loan and feel fine
